DESCRIPTION:
How many geophysical terms in English and Russian ? The idea of the book is great, and I was eager to buy it. But I was quite disappointed by the following points. Actually, the book does not contain a Russian-English part, but the Russian-English index, which is a different thing. The English-Russian part and the Russian-English index contain about 6,000 entries each instead of the declared amount of 30,000. The book is not an independent work, but a translation of Dr.R.Sheriff's Encyclopedic dictionary, and some very important terms (such as "bin" and "binning") were dropped during. Wood,s Illustrated English-Russian Encuclopedic dictionary Natalia Apanel I have been trastating technical documentation from English to Rusiian. I found this book extråmåly usfull. It contains most popular methods of exploration in geophysics and a lot of other necessary information: such as interpretation of seismic data and terminology used in geoexploration. Just one problem with this book that is extremely expensive, that is why I am writing this review.
Contains 30,000 terms. Covers the most current methods in seismic exploration and production geophysics, processing and geological interpretation of seismic data including seismic stratigraphy. Paper.
