DESCRIPTION:
"What an utterly FANTASTIC book!!!!" according to Gene R. Obrien. Wow! Forget for a moment that he was in all of the Beatles films. Victor Spinetti's life on it's own makes a great read! From his touching and poignant childhood through to his film, television and theatre work, Victor Spinetti has led a life I only WISH that I had one third of! The 'backstage' stories alone are worth the price of the book. He is very funny and 'up front' in many of his stories. The Princess Margaret story alone had me laughing out loud. But he is also very discreet and in the fashion of a true gentleman, will only give you as much as you need to know in some cases. What class! What style! If only I could sit next to him in . J. Jackson said Nice read. If you really want to. Good read for someone who's very interested in the history of the Beatles. but only if your willing to spend the time getting to KNOW himThe beginning of the book starts out vvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyy slow explaining almost every detail of his childhood. So if your about to meet this man and want to know what he's all about, this book is for you. If not, maybe just skip the first few chapters. Cynthia Santiglia said Entertaining and Charming. A respected actor, he's also an excellent speaker/entertainer (I've seen him do some personal appearances at Beatles related events over the years)and this book is the next best thing to hearing the stories in person straight out of the horse's mouth. Big talent, good attitude= great read!Picked u
His remarkable wit and versatility have earned him fresh popularity with every generation since. A veteran stage actor, writer and director, Spinetti gives us an irresistible account of his own life, from his Welsh-Italian upbringing to his role as one of the few trusted friends of the Beatles through to his recent portrayal of Einstein on stage in London. Up Front contains startling new insights into life with the Beatles, and a selection of previously unpublished photos of the Fab Four. Described by Sir Paul McCartney as the man who makes clouds disappear’, Victor Spinetti is one of Britain’s best-loved and most outrageous performers. He became known to the Sixties generation through his comedic roles in the landmark Beatles films and the classic Return of the Pink Panther, starring Peter Sellers. Spinetti’s charismatic personality and his fabulous ability to entertain combine to make
"Enjoyable read for film fans, theater junkies and ‘60s nostalgics." —Kirkus Reviews
