Dakota Willink said SMOLDERING HOT 5 STAR READ!. I am ashamed to admit that I never heard of Jodi Ellen Malpas until a few months ago. I must have been living under a rock, but I am so happy to have found a new favorite author!This Man was a refreshing change to romance novels that I had been reading for many reasons, but mostly because it was a totally different writing style than what I was used to. The writing is flawless and had an easy flow.The story is set in London and I loved that Malpas made the setting authentic by using British slang. I laughed every time I read, "Bloody hell!" The sarcastic humor throughout truly made the story hilarious at times.I thoroughly enjoyed Ava's ch. EKava said Dear GodDNF.. I thought I'd read some bad stuff recently, but 'This Man' takes the biscuit! And there are people out there who called Fifty Shades of Grey abuse?? Uh, no. That was funny before, but after being subjected to this bit of car crash f@#&ery it's hilarious.How did this book get so many high reviews?? Halfway through I was skimming, until skimming no longer kept me from the eye bleeding poison that is Jesse Ware and that weak and spineless idiot, Ava. This story is not love, not romance, not even erotica. This man has not an ounce of respect for his lover. He wants to break her. This story is about sickness, but couched in a contemporary roman. "Middle of the Pack" according to syvchick. soooooooooooo hmmmm What I like about this book: The author must be Brittish as many of the words and phrases used are not usual to me. Like "knickers" and "pissed". I actually really love that. It's not the same old thing. It's well edited. From this point on I just wasn't that taken. This book is expensive when compared with many others I've read and it's not any better or even as good as many of the .99 or $1.99 books out there. This book is too much like every other book in this genre and there was not enough differences to set it apart from the rest. If you changed Ava & Jesse's names you'd have every other average ACR book out there.
