Joel L. Gandelman said GREAT book for not only kids but ADULTStrust me!!. I'm STILL chuckling after buying this book and reading it before gifting it to my nephew Greg, 11, and Kayla, 7. And,. as with other books by Jon Scieszka, the huge problem is: I want this book for MYSELF.The bottom line is that in his version, wonderfully illstrated by Lane Smith, the Three Little Pigs is the ultimate story of SPIN CONTROL. This time, unlike in a zillion other versions, the wolf is telling HIS side of the story -- what REALLY happened. And to hear him tell his. "Scieszka doesn't fail to offer imagination and plenty of laughs" according to Dylan Hiler. I read this when I was a child and loved it back then. I thought my 6 year old may get a kick out of it and unfortunately most of it went over his head. That said some of the more base humor he still enjoyed and when he gets to be about 9 I think he'll appreciate it just as much as I did. I highly recommend Scieszka unorthodox childrens tales!. We read the three little pigs and then this before bedtime because it's really important to hear both sides of the story. Still waiting on the "truth" though.
