The premise of someone starting out in the Amazon rainforest and ending up at Harvard intrigued me. The author grabbed my attention from the first page and kept it until the final page. She did a great job of helping me understand Lais' thoughts and feelings during her journey. It's a book that is appropriate for all ages. I now have a new favorite author to add to my list!
