An account of life in Leavenworth Prison, based on interviews with inmates and others, describes the lives of a sexual predator, a gang member in for forty-two years, a sociopath in ""no human contact"" status, and others.
The Hot House: Life Inside Leavenworth Prison All I can say is Mr. Earley hit it right on the head. As a former staff member I can attest that all those character's do exsist. The best true prison story I've read. A must read for anyone in Corrections.. A Brilliant Public Relations Move by the Bureau of Prisons This book is very well written and accurately captures the atmosphere of life in a maximum security prison. It does slightly overdramatize daily life and fails to capture the routine and boredom that affects the inmates, and to a much greater extent the guards. It also gives the reader a glimps of an organization in which fear is the do. No climax but fairly interesting account Worth reading if you want a feel for prison life. But the author will imply big events and not follow through, so it felt anti climactic.
