I'm not sure why some of the reviews here are critical of the length, it's not longer than any other recent mysteries I've read lately.I really enjoyed Surrender, New York. It feels similar to The Alienist-- meaning you get drawn into it right away, and before you know it you're completely wrapped up in the book. The story is well paced, and the stuff about f.
