In November of 2000, while visiting in Cuba with my sister (the woman mentioned in the author's note) I read a portion of the ms and made a few of my own corrections and sugestions which, happily, the author accepted.Although spy stories have never been among my favorites, this book held my interest throughout--much more than I thought it would. The disaffection of son and daughter is real as is the paternal bond. Reminds us of the many Cubans who made the attempt to get across the ninety miles of ocean and makes the people real.
