Part memoir, part observational humour, this seriously funny book, documents the author’s transition from a city living executive, to a garage dwelling ski bum in the French Alps. It will be enjoyed by anyone who has either been on a skiing holiday, is thinking of running a ski chalet, wants to be a ski instructor or is planning a midlife crisis - it's not really about skiing.

During the halcyon dotcom era, he set up a website development company in Birmingham then sold it, and his soul, to an advertising agency. A proud Yorkshireman, Chris was born in Hull but ended up living in the Midlands. He hasn’t always been a writer although he did have a weekly column in the Birmingham Post for many years. Chris graduated from Newcastle University and got a "proper" job as a software engineer. About the Author Amongst other things, Chris is now the 2nd oldest ski bum in the French Alpine town of Morzine. Favorite philosopher: Homer (Simpson). "'Drop in' - you'll enjoy it!" according to Amazon Customer. A really entertaining and easy read. For anyone who's been on skiing trips to the Alps, this will transport you back to those heroic days on the slopes and 'all-conquering' nights in the bar and make you realise what your chalet host really thought of you! Thankful. Compulsory reading for any middle-aged man, or anybody who knows one. Jonathan Sharp I only bought this book as I ski and know Morzine well, so my expectations weren't that high, but it truly is a really enjoyable read. Chris's book is about what most of us middle aged men only dream about: escaping and turning a dream into reality, although that r
