The story is well told as it intertwines the plight of African-Americans in the U.S as well as the protagonist's experience in her personal life. The author's command of language is evident as she paints a vivid picture of the past and the c. much like when I read Toni Morrison's works Donna A timely story! much like when I read Toni Morrison's works, I found myself easily identifying with the protagonist's views on family, relationships and dedication to the African American community. Beautifully written to show how events in our ancestral past very much affects who we are and how we love. I highly recommend this book.
