I've never been a huge fan of Runequest or Glorantha, but this book changed my mind. It is well written, and has a unique take on character creation. Rather than existing in a vacuum, a Runequest character has family, allies, and enemies to consider. It makes the adventure more important when your family and friends could suffer the consequences of your failure.The magic system is both unique and detailed, and combat actually looks like it would be fun (rather than the chore it is in some other systems). While this product is written under the assumption that you will be adventuring in Glorantha, enough informati. An excellent system auspexRex Mongoose has packed a ton of material into this book's 200 pages: character creation, skills, resolution mechanics, magic rules, game master guide, and even a modest beastiary. The book is light on fluff, but that's intentional. I like that the rules are designed so a GM can use the traditional setting, Glorantha, or something else. The writing is good, especially for an RPG rulebook. The system is solid and makes a lot of sense but it's also powerful. Each different type of magic has its own flavor.
