A. E. Payne said thought and discussion provoking. We used this book in our curriculum this quarter and it prompted lots of deep questioning and thinking. Parents came in to school to report on the conversations they were having in the car as a result of the reading on Franklin the kids were doing. We used pieces in our third and fourth grade, and all of it in our fifth and sixth. I highly recommend this book, it's the one for younger grades.
