Unlike most other MindStorms books, it's easy to see what goes where, without confusion. Some parts are shown in the "wrong" color to make them easily visible, and Ms Rhod. "Very disappointed" according to Larry Scheflin. When I looked at the sample Amazon posted for this book (from the Kindle store), the programming blocks were annotated directly above and below each block for clear reference. In the Kindle edition, each of the blocks has a number beneath it which corresponds to an annotation. Those annotations are simply listed in number order beginning below the diagram and can continue for a few pages beyond where the diag. J said Fun Projects. Building time: app 60 min Programming time: 10 min Difficulty level for children: medium After having worked through the complete book now, I can draw the conclusion that all the five models reflect Fay's particular skill in mimicking the physique and the motion patterns of real-world animals with LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT. Like the other animals from Fay's book , also the NXT Sloth is a both exceptional as well as entertaining robot. Because of the appealing models, the well adapted level of difficulty, the particular topic, the extensibility of the robots (of which Fay proposes some in the appendix) and the didactic part at the end of the book,  "Endangered Species" in my opinion is a very good choice both for parents who are in search of a book for their child accompanying the newly bought NXT 2.0 set as well as for teachers who are looking for a guide to their robotic classes.posted on the NXTStep blog, February 14, 2010, by Matthias

All robots are built using the most common parts in the LEGO MINDSTORMS Education NXT Set (#9797) and the NXT Education Resource Set (#9648), and are easily modified for use with the NXT 1.0 or NXT 2.0 kits.. Educational activities in math, literacy and critical thinking are included. The building instructions for these robots, representing five endangered animals---a sloth, gorilla, Komodo dragon, Polar Bear, and frog (a representative of thousands of endangered frogs)---are user-friendly, four-color, and thoroughly tested
