DESCRIPTION:

Melissa said Some of the best action books I've ever read!!. Some of the best action books I've ever read!! The Event Group books keep you on the edge of your seat. Golemon is great--right up there with Rollens! I've read these over and over and now listen to them on audio.. "Overlord was excellent!" according to BusyGirl. This #9 book in the Event Group series takes this series to a new level! Can't wait to see how it continues in # 10.. "Really could use an editor!" according to marsin2010. The story itself proceeded in acceptable fashion but the editorial production of the book was horrible. Time after time the jerk Speaker of the House is called SENATOR (whatever his name was). Was anyone paying attention to continuity in this book? One cannot be a Senator AND be Speaker of the House of Representatives. There were numerous instances where absurd numbers were thrown out that simply made no sense in the context given. Number of personnel, number of casualties, number of ship based weapons, illogical distances in space.

But who is this small being, exactly? Can he outsmart his former masters? Can he be trusted? Can the event group defeat the world's greatest evilbefore it's too late?Meanwhile, the Event Group is the one entity that refuses to accept the inevitable defeat of humankind. The countdown to armageddon has begun. Some believe it began 700 million years ago, others say it started in 1947 in Roswell, New Mexico. As global allies fall to the wayside and nations start a mad scramble to realign their military structures, only one element in the arsenal of the world can possibly give Earth a fighting chance at survival: The Matchstick Man. Regardless of its exact origin, the war between the worlds is about to reach its final conclusion: The End of Days. They've learned that the answer to this ancient war has always been afoot, and that they may even hold the clue to salvation inside their own artifact vault. But without Colonel Jack Collins leading the charge, does the Event Group have what it takes to thwart the invasion? Meanwhile, the worst fears of Department 5656 are finally being realizedand time has already run its course…

Fans of the TV series Warehouse 13 or the action-adventure novels of Cussler and Rollins will lap this up.” Booklist on Carpathian“Explosive…tense, terrifying--and worth the investment.” Associated Press on Ripper“A tale worthy of the giants of the genre like Clive Cussler, James Rollins, and Matthew Reilly, Legend is a definite must-read for action and adventure fans. The depth of science fiction…is surprising and ingenious.” SFSignal on Legend“Golemon combines his typical action-adventure fare with more thriller elements this time, and he focuses more on the personal stakes of his characters. Even better,

David L. Golemon grew up in Chino, California. Overlord is the ninth novel in his Event Group series.. He has raised three great children and now makes his home in New York
