There s certainly more to learn. So right from the start, you ll see how OOP is applied in the real world.#2: There s a 4-chapter section on database programmingBusiness applications require database processing. This is the .NET 3.5 edition of Murach's best-selling C# book on Windows Forms development. That's why this book gives you complete applications for everyday business functions (these can be downloaded for free from the Murach web site).#4: The paired-pages format lets you set your own paceMurach books have a distinctive format, where each two-page spread presents a single topic. But you ll have a solid set of skills that will let you easily prototype typical database applications in business.#3: Complete applications show how all the pieces interactThe key to mastering C# development is to have plenty of real-world examples that show you how the features you're learning interactand that help you avoid the problems that you can run into as you build complex applications. So instead of glossing over this crucial function in a chapter or two, this book gives you 4 full chapters that show you how to use RAD tools like data sources as well as ADO.NET code to do fairly sophisticated database processing.
Good book to start C# using Visual Studio 2008 NY This book is an excellent resource for getting started with C# using Visual Studio 2008. Note that no one book can teach everything, nor is the book format for everyone (paired pages where the book tries to present text on the left page and illustrations on the right page), but the presentation works for me. In my opinion this book is a very good learning tool and is an excellent addition to the library of a self-taught programmer that knows no mentor because of the code samples which serves as reference as well. At this point, I have read about 1/3 of the book.An excellent feature of this book is its use of two adjoining pages for concept presentation. Instructions and explanations are presented on left-hand pages while sample code or screen displays are shown on right-hand pages. This makes it very easy to follow and comprehend material. The book also has a companion website where sample code is avaiable for d. Great for a beginner. Matthew Whiskeyman I am giving this book 5 stars because I found it great for a beginner with absolutely no knowledge or familiarity with Visual Studio who would like to get "jump-started". I had already been about 4 chapters into Andrew Troelson's book about C# and found it to have great information, but difficult to digest. I had to put the book down frequently due to overload.I realized that I had already learned most of the information contained in Murach's book already (even though I had only reached chapter 4!).I would not recommend this f
