Title and Description is misleading there is nothing about planning or organizing your homeschool. ELVFAMILY As a Mom beginning her homeschooling journey I have been struggling to get started and get organized. I saw several ads for the 1st year Homeschooling Handbook on facebook and decided to buy it with some extra birthday money that I had because it looked beautiful and claimed to be designed to help me do what I was indeed struggling to do, plan, organize and teach by example.1. The “By Example” is the main jist of this book, since there is almost NOTHING in it regarding educating your children. It's basically a coloring book for moms with spaces to make random lists or write recipes. You are encouraged . Printing Issues & Overpriced Amazon Customer I would happily pay $15 for what it is, basically about 20 different pages of fill in this "creative idea," but definitely not $30. Also I noticed several of the more detailed coloring pages didn't enlarge well and were blurry. There is also a recipe page to fill in a recipe as you're going along, but there was an error and the ingredients and directions were already there for 1 recipe for at least half of them. It look liked they were giving a sample recipe, but forgot to remove it from all of the pages before printing. It's still a great idea, but I could think of these things myself and use a $5 - $10 notebook.. Not what I envisioned While I do like this handbook I recommend that the Author would change it's title. This journal has places to plan meals, plan out what books to read, color, write down devotional or quiet time thoughts and places to color. This is nice and all but it really isn't any more relevant to a mother's first year homeschooling or 100th year homeschooling. I imagnined that this journal would have more to offer for mother's who are new to homeschooling.
Your life will be enriched, you will learn new things and your children will watch you study! They will even look in this handbook and want to make their workbooks just as lovely! Use this book as study guide, daily devotional and planner. Then read, color, draw and watch a good film with the kids. You have so much you need to learn anyway! Now get a stack of books about things YOU want to study to use along with this study guide. So here is a “workbook” just for new homeschooling moms.
