"Real good graphic novels" according to Arun. I read Modesty Blaise as a newspaper strip in India, some long time back, and I liked this so very much. Modesty and Willie are not some superheroes. They do not have superhuman abilities and they do have many vulnerabilities. The villains are also human beings. The stories and the drawing are re. The series set up - and Modesty and Willie (and Sir Gerald, and Fraser and so many more) are introduced Modesty Blaise is my all time favourite action hero. And this is the first really good set of reproductions of those fabulous comic strips.Modesty has a unique and unflinching code of honour, and her "sidekick" Willie Garvin is a seriously excellent character, wholely fleshed out, and sporting a . modesty blaise rocks When I was a kid I couldn't wait for fridays to go buy my favourite magazine so I can read the comics strips.
