My 6 year old and I loved this A Reader This was a really fun bedtime story to read (a chapter book so took several nights). It was full of action and suspense. Perfect for my active boy who has enjoyed Tae Kwon Do and Kung Fu classes, and so could relate to the ideas of ninja training - practice, hard work, and strength against adversity. Maybe a little scary for some, as it did involve bad guys with supernatural powers chasing Hiro and his friends and family. But for an action loving kid, it was a great story. As the parent who had to read it, I appreciated the high quality of the writing.. High interest, suspense. Good start to a series! My son is reading the "Dragon Masters Series" by Tracey West. That series is in the process of releasing the books every couple of months or son. So, in between books, I thought I would get another book written by Tracey West to fill the void in between the next release. He liked it but not as much as the dragon master series we are currently reading. My son has a form of dyslexia, and is reading at below grade level, but needs high interest books, or he won't read them. (or anything for that matter) My 8 year old daughter loved the book! My daughter w. Bland. Not enough of a story line.
