About the Author William Quan Judge (1851-1896) was born in Dublin, Ireland, and emigrated with his family to America in 1864. As an indefatigable writer, lecturer, organizer, and correspondent, his contribution to Theosophy was acknowledged by H. P. Blavatsky shortly before she died, referring to him as her "oldest friend and fellow-worker, publicly tendering him my most sincere thanks and deeply-felt gratitude, in the name of Theosophy, for the noble work he is doing and has done."
