DESCRIPTION:

Only thing is, not everyone she cares about is so easily located, and she must contend with gangsters, shadowy intrigues from dubious employers, and rival supervillains. Can't forget them, they're everywhere. Oh, and heroes, too. From civil-minded super-speedsters to incompetent time-travelers, all of them want to see Dire brought down for her crimes. Doctor Dire, now a full-fledged supervillain, returns to Icon City with two goals: Find her friends, and obtain enough money to afford the next part of her sinister master plan. Villain, remember? This is the second full novel of the Tales from the Teslaverse project.. And when a cargo of hijacked experimental flowers turns out to be far more sinister than anticipated, she's pushed to the limit not only to survive, but also to save the world itself from a horrible fate. For a profit, of course

S.L. said interesting but cold. Continues the first book, Dire:Born, with a similar pacing and tone. The world is an interesting, dystopic look at how a world with superpowered people might function. The plot is interesting enough, and I like the secondary characters, who are rather diverse in many ways. The greatest flaw, I think, is the main character - she's by nat. I was left wanting more despite some shortcomings, not a insignificant achievement. The main characters could use more internal monologue and character development, but otherwise its a fun romp through a bronze age superhero story. I will admit though that I was left wanting more, which is an accomplishment. I look forward to the authors next installment to see where he goes with the plot.. Awesome follow-up Harold Phipps In dire born he started off strong and he the author follows up with a story if not just as good but maybe better. Dire is one of the most interesting characters I have seen in a very long time.
