As an expat working in Sydney Australia the setting and characters in the book were instantly appealing and recognisable providing strong visual images of `Middle England' from Pheasant shooting, the running of a country estate to field sport saboteurs and animal rights activists, not to mention the Harrington Estate game keeper who was very popular and provided a `community service' to the local ladies.This hilarious novel tracks the rise' fall and bitter resentment around success and failure between the hig. English satirical writing at its best! As an Englishman now living in the states I am always on the lookout for English novelists in the style of the late Tom Sharpe. Robert Hedley definitely fits the bill for me and I had a great time reading about the twisted exploits of Michael Wild with bodies and birds!. Shooter said Fab read. I could not put this gem of a book down. Well written and funny, a must for someone tired of main stream humour but instead wants to experience the funny side of life and what it can throw at us from a totally unique angle. 10/10
