DESCRIPTION:

M. S. Michels said solid explanation. Good, solid, uncomplicated look at the economics of the health care system in America. I used it to produce a lecture for resident physicians.. Locke said Very Boring. I bought this book through my kindle, and, on the same day, I returned it.Even for a textbook, the diction and presentation of the information is beyond boring. To make it worse, the author never explains the information when he introduces it; he simply puts a parenthesis stating "Go to chapter x for more information." I can understand doing this in certain cases, but when you have literally five of those things in a simple paragraph, it just becomes ridiculous.Secondly, the bias against Republicans and Republican administration in this work is palpable, alm. Hidden Dragon said Excellent book. This book not only talks about the structure of US health care system, but also gives historic information on how the system was evolved, making chapter 9's discussion on "Health Care Reform" much more meaningful. The author gives a balanced view on all major issues (e.g. private vs. public delivery systems). The Epilogue alone is worth the price of the book!
